Performance Discipline Index

The Performance Discipline Index (PDI) is Fortitude's behavioural score measuring how consistently a trader follows their own risk rules — derived from executed trade data covering risk consistency, revenge-trade detection and overtrading analysis.

PDI deliberately measures process rather than profit. Profit over a short sample is dominated by variance and says little about whether a trader is behaving consistently; adherence to one's own rules is observable directly in executed trades and is not subject to the same noise.

What it reads

  • Risk consistency — whether risk per trade stays stable, or drifts upward after losses and wins.
  • Revenge-trade signatures — entries shortly after losses, at elevated size, outside documented criteria.
  • Overtrading — position frequency measured against the trader's own stated approach rather than an absolute threshold.

It is computed from real executed trades synced from a connected broker account, not from self-reported entries, because self-reporting is subject to precisely the recall bias the score exists to surface.

A discipline score is not a prediction of profitability and is not presented as one. It measures whether you did what you said you would do — which is the part of trading you actually control.
